Liza has built her career at the intersection of technology and human connection, helping scale some of Silicon Valley's most transformative companies.
As one of the first 20 employees at Robinhood, she contributed to the company’s earliest product and growth initiatives, such as their very first referral program. Later, she led product teams at Slack through the company’s growth from 500 employees to its 2019 IPO. There, she built foundational elements of Slack’s developer platform like the UI framework Block Kit, and led the notifications team creating features that millions of users rely on daily.
Prior to joining Adverb, Liza was a partner at Matrix where she invested in early stage technology companies. She has made over 25 angel investments, backing founders who combine technical excellence with social impact. Her approach to investing is shaped by her background in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, where she studied human computer interaction through the lens of cognitive science and computer science.
Liza views technology and investing through a product lens, focusing on the fundamental problems companies solve and their potential for positive impact and scale. Outside of the office you can find Liza upside down, reading a book, or throwing an elaborate dinner party.
